Symbian - the name of the operating system, accompanying libraries, user interface solutions and specifications for utilities produced by the Symbian consortium, which comprised the largest producers of mobile phones (Nokia, Motorola, Siemens, Sony Ericsson). In later years, the consortium has only Nokia. Symbian was created based on the EPOC system, which is used in the PDA from Psion PLC.
This operating system is used in many types of mobile devices, including mobile phones (the first time on the phone Ericsson R380) and PDAs.
